Avocado Salad Recipe Ingredients:

  • Avocado – 1 cup (1 large)
  • Black Beans – ¼ cup
  • Garbanzo Beans – ¼ cup
  • Capsicum – ¼ cup
  • Coriander Leaves – ¼ cup
  • Cucumber – ¼ cup (1 medium sized)
  • Green Chilies – ¼ cup (1 or 2 chilies)
  • Onions – ¼ cup (1 small sized)
  • Tomatoes – ¼ cup (1 medium sized)
  • Cherry Tomatoes – ¼ cup
  • Corns – ¼ cup
  • Fresh Yogurt – 4 tbsp.
  • Mayonnaise – ½ tbsp.
  • Lettuce leaves– 1/4th of large bunch
  • Fresh Mint Leaves – 1 tbsp. (finely chopped)
  • Garlic Cloves – ¼ tsp.
  • Minced Shallot – 1 tbsp.
  • Lime Juice – ½ tsp.
  • Cumin Powder – ½ tsp.
  • Red Chili Powder – ¼ tsp.
  • Black Pepper – ¼ tsp.
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Olive Oil – ½ tbsp.

Note: You may also use fresh cream instead of yogurt. You can also skip using any vegetable or may add your favorite.

Avocado Salad Recipe Steps:

Pre-Preparation:

  • Wash, Rinse and finely chop the cherry tomatoes, coriander leaves, onions, green chilies and capsicum.
  • Slice chop the avocado. Scoop its flesh out and remove the seed.
  • Now peel off the tomato and cucumber skin and chop them.
  • Wash the lettuce with fresh water and steam well for 10 minutes. Soak in the cool water for 2 minutes. Remove the exterior leaves from the head.
  • Yogurt Dressing:
    • In a large bowl, whisk the yogurt till it becomes smooth.
    • Now drizzle the olive oil and mix again.
    • Sprinkle the spice powders like red chili powder, cumin powder, and the black pepper powder.
    • Once again, whisk at a medium pace to form a dressing.
    • Keep the bowl aside.
  • Lime Vinaigrette Dressing:
    • In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic cloves with the minced shallots.
    • Add lime juice or squeeze the ¼ lemon juice.
    • Drizzle the olive oil.
    • Combine and fold the ingredients. Keep the bowl aside.

Note: De-seed the green chilies. You can make any of the above-mentioned dressing for the salad.

Preparation:

  • Take another bowl and combine all the chopped ingredients like onions, tomatoes, and cucumber, capsicum, and green chilies.
  • Along with beans, corns, and chopped veggies add the sliced chopped Avocado.
  • Transfer the any of the dressing of your choice to this bowl.
  • Season the mixture with a pinch of salt.
  • Fold the ingredients well so that they attain the flavors.
  • Then squeeze lemon juice over it.
  • Gently give a toss and again pour some more dressing.
  • You add mayonnaise at this point for minor sweetness.
  • Sprinkle the coriander leaves.
  • Finally, season the salad with salt and black pepper.
  • Drizzle the mixture with the Olive oil.
  • Combine the ingredients properly.
  • Take the salad bowl or plate, spread the lettuce leaves.
  • Transfer the mixture to the salad bowl over the lettuce leaf.
  • Refrigerate the bowl of salad for 1 hour.
  • Take the bowl from the fridge. Season with extra spice powders.

Note: Do not use both the dressing at the same time. It may harm the taste.
