Herb Rice Recipe

Ingredients Required for Herb Rice Recipe:

  • Cooked Rice – 2 Cups
  • Scallions – 2 (Chopped)
  • Potatoes – 10 units of medium sized potatoes
  • Carrot (Chopped) – 3 medium sized carrots
  • Parsley Leaves – ¼ cup
  • Basil Leaves – ¼ cup
  • Dill Leaves – ¼ cup
  • Black Pepper – ½ tsp.
  • Oil – 2 tbsp. (buy saffola oil)
  • Salt – as per taste

Note: If potatoes are small then use around 15 small sized potatoes. You can use extra virgin olive oil for preparing the herb rice.

It is recommended to use long-grain brown rice if you want the slightly nuttier flavor in your rice. You can also add chopped nuts of your choice in this rice.

Steps for Herb Rice Recipe:

Pre-Preparation:

Cook Rice: Take the 2 cups of patanjali basmati rice and wash it properly with fresh water more 2 to 3 times.

  • Then keep the rice to boil and wait for them to get properly cooked.
  • Once the rice is cooked, now transfer the rice to a bowl and keep the rice aside.

Boil Potatoes: Take the whole potatoes and wash them properly under the running water tap.

  • Once you have rinsed the potatoes, clean them up with kitchen towel.
  • If potatoes are big then cut them, but don’t cut them too fine or small.
  • And also, it is okay if you don’t remove potato skin.
  • Now boil the clean potatoes in the pressure cooker over a medium flame.
  • Wait until they are properly boiled and evenly cooked.
  • Your potatoes should become soft and mushy after you have steamed or boiled them.
  • After boiling the potatoes, remove the access water from the potatoes.
  • Keep the cooked potatoes aside and let them come to the natural temperature.

Note: You can boil the rice in saucepan or pressure cooker with water and pinch of salt.

Preparation:

  • Now take a non-stick fry pan and pour some oil in it. Heat the pan and let the oil become a bit hot.
  • Once the oil is heated, then add the chopped scallions into it.
  • Stir fry these chopped scallions for about 3-4 minutes and sauté them.
  • Then, again add the chopped carrots in the pan and stir fry them too.
  • After that, add the boiled potatoes in the pan and cook them.
  • Now add all the herbs you are using along with black pepper in the pan.
  • Mix well and fry everything for about 3 minutes.
  • When everything is evenly mixed, then finally now it’s the time to add the boiled rice.
  • Sir the rice, and mix it evenly with all the other veggies and herbs.
  • Season the reason with a pinch of salt and stir again.
  • Mix everything properly and stir-fry them for 2 minutes.
  • Check for the taste of the rice. Add if you feel anything is missing.

Note: You can add the fresh herbs and spice powders in the proportion of your individual preference. You can cook the rice in butter to make the Buttered Herb Rice.
