Ingredients for Jeera Rice Recipe in Microwave:

  • Basmati Rice – 1 cup
  • Caraway Seeds (Shah Jeera) – 1 tsp.
  • Cinnamon (Dalchini) – 1 inch
  • Green Cardamom (Green Elaichi) – 1 unit
  • Black Cardamom (Black Elaichi) – 1 unit
  • Black Peppercorns – 3 units
  • Cloves (Lavang) – 2 units
  • Water – 2 cups
  • Ghee – 2 tsp.

Note: You can add sliced onions. Use long grained rice. You may use a bay leaf as well. In this Jeera Rice Recipe in the microwave, we have use shah Jeera or caraway seeds instead of Jeera.

Steps for Jeera Rice Recipe in Microwave:

  • Take 1 cup basmati rice and wash it.
  • Take microwave cooker and add clean basmati rice in it.
  • Add 2 cups water in the microwave cooker and soak rice for 30 minutes.
  • Now, add caraway seeds, Dalchini (cinnamon), both cardamoms, cloves and black peppercorns in the cooker.
  • Stir everything once and mix it.
  • Also 2 tsp. pure cow ghee in the cooker and mix.
  • Now, place the microwave cooker inside the microwave.
  • Cook the Jeera rice in microwave on full power.
  • At 3 minutes, open the microwave and check the Jeera rice.
  • Once again, mix it properly.
  • Now, let it cook for 5 minutes and check again after 5 minutes.
  • Once cooked, turn off the microwave and let it cool down to eatable temperature.
  • Serve the Jeera Rice made in Microwave.

Note: If you are using bay leaf, then add it to fry along with other whole spices.
