Sweet Milk Poha Recipe

Ingredients for Sweet Milk Poha Recipe:

  • Poha – ½ cup
  • Milk – ½ cup
  • Jaggery Powder – 2 tbsp.
  • Banana (chopped) – 1 piece (small or medium sized)
  • Grated Coconut (Kadukas Nariyal) – 1 tbsp.

Note: You can use ½ cup thick Poha. You may even use 1/3 cup either thin Poha or thick Poha. If you have red Poha, then use that. It tastes very good with the milk.

The grated Jaggery can also be added. You can also use dry coconut powder as well if you do not have fresh grated coconut.

Steps for Sweet Milk Poha Recipe:

It is very simple, easy and quick to follow the milk Poha recipe. It is one of best sweet snacks which can be made in minutes at home.


  • Take a strainer and wash the ½ cup Poha properly.
  • Rinse the Poha for almost 2 to 3 times till they are totally cleaned.
  • Repeat this process more than once so that the Poha becomes soft as well while cleaning.
  • Strain the Poha, drain off the excess water.
  • Take Poha in your hand and apply gentle pressure on it and remove the water.
  • Keep the Poha aside in a bowl and proceed further.

Note: If you are using the Poha which are of very hard quality, then soak them in water for 30 minutes.

Prepare Milk Poha:

  • Take a bowl or a non-stick saucepan and heat milk in it.
  • Turn off the flame if the milk is warm enough.
  • Take the banana and peal it off.
  • Then take another bowl and slice the banana into it.
  • Now, add 2 tbsp. grated Jaggery on the top of the sliced banana.
  • Add 1 tbsp. grated coconut on it and mix it gently.
  • Now, add the Poha in this bowl.
  • Also pour the ½ cup warm milk in the bowl carefully.
  • Mix everything gently.
  • Check the taste, add anything if you want.

And the sweet snack dish is ready! Serve the sweet milk Poha Warm.

Note: You can also add crushed, crumbled, chopped or grated Jaggery over the banana. Add the milk in the bowl as per your preference. You may add less milk than ½ cup milk or more milk.
