Fruit Custard Recipe Ingredients:

  • Almond Milk – 2 cup
  • Fresh Milk – ½ cup
  • Custard Powder – 2 tbsp.
  • Cardamom Powder – ¼ tbsp.
  • Sugar – 5 tbsp.
  • Butter – ¼ tbsp.
  • Apple – ½ cup
  • Banana – ½ cup
  • Sapota / Chikoo – ½ cup
  • Kiwi – ½ cup
  • Papaya – ½ cup
  • Pear – ½ cup
  • Grapes – ½ cup
  • Honeydew – ½ cup
  • Strawberry – ½ cup
  • Green Cherries – ½ cup
  • Pomegranate Seeds – ¼ cup
  • Cashew – ¼ cup
  • Almonds – ¼ cup
  • Walnuts – ¼ cup
  • Honey – ¼ tsp.
  • Rose Essence – ¼ tsp.
  • Vanilla Ice Cream – ¼ cup
  • Mixed Fruit Jam – ¼ tbsp.

Note: Vanilla ice cream adds the mildly sweet flavor to the fruit custard recipe otherwise it is optional to use. Same is true for honey. You can use nut and fruits of your choice.

Fruit Custard Recipe Steps:

Pre-Preparation:

  • Boil the fresh milk and the almond milk.
  • Wash, Rinse and Chop all the fruits into small equal sized pieces.
  • Roast the cashews, almonds, walnuts and any other dry fruits. You roast them in oven or pan.
  • Topping Syrup: Heat jam, when it melts add water and stir. Mix pomegranate seeds and mixes well to form a shiny syrup.

Note: Chop the fruits in the cube shape. Roasting the dry fruits makes them crispy. Do not over heat the milk while you warm it.

Preparation:

  • In a large mixing bowl, pour the almond milk and add the custard powder.
  • Heat a nonstick saucepan and transfer the custard powder milk mixture to this pan for cooking.
  • Now add some sugar and stir the mixture well.
  • Cook till the sugar dissolves in the mixture. Let it become smooth.
  • Turn the flame off and transfer this custard powder mixture to a bowl.
  • Melt butter in another saucepan and Sautee the fruits in this pan.
  • Sprinkle sugar over the fruits and give a toss. Let them be soft.
  • Now combine the sautéed fruits to the bowl of custard mixture.
  • Pour in the fresh milk into this bowl and whisk well on the low flame.
  • Keep stirring continuously over the stove till gets the thick consistency in its texture.
  • Add the pomegranate seeds to this bowl and again stir the mixture.
  • Add the roasted dry fruits to the mixture bowl.
  • Drizzle the honey for the extra sweetness.
  • Add few drops of rose essence to make the fruit custard even more delightful.
  • Fold the fruits and nuts to coat them evenly with honey
  • Now add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to this mixture.
  • Combine the ingredients properly and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  • Turn off the flame once again and allow the custard to cool for some time in the refrigerator.
  • When cooled, check the custard and take it from the fridge.
  • Divide the fruit custard into the individual glasses and top them with the jam syrup.

And the delicious fruit custard is ready to be served.

Note: The custard powder paste should not have any lumps.
