Paneer Kheer Recipe

Ingredients for Paneer Kheer Recipe:

  • Milk ( full fat milk ) – 3 cups
  • Grated or crumbled paneer – ½ cup
  • Sugar – 5-6 tbsp. or as required
  • Cardamom powder – ½ tsp.
  • Chopped almond – 8-10 pieces
  • Chopped cashews – 8-10 pieces
  • Chopped pistachios – 8-10 pieces
  • Kesar/ saffron strands – 5-6 strands ( optional )
  • Rose water – 1-1.5 tsp. ( optional )

Note: All dry fruits used here should be unsalted. If the salted dry fruits are used then the kheer will be spoiled. You can buy carnival almonds online.

It is recommended to use fresh milk while making this dessert. You can also use condensed milk along with fresh milk. And if you do not have condensed milk, you can substitute it with the Almond milk.

The paneer can be store-bought as well but it is better if you make it at home because outside paneer may have salt which can spoil your milk.

Generally, tofu can be replaced with paneer but if you do that then it would change the entire flavor and give its own distinct taste which is not advisable.  So, refrain from using Tofu if you do not have paneer. Yet, in the exceptional case you can use Ricotta Cheese in place of paneer.
