Paneer Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients For Paneer Sandwich Recipe:

  • Bread slices – 4 slices
  • Paneer ( grated or crumbled) – ½ cup )
  • Finely chopped onion – 1 ( medium size )
  • Finely chopped green chili – 1 piece
  • Red chili powder – ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder/ dhania powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder/ Haldi – ¼ tsp
  • Cumin powder/ jeera powder – ¼ tsp
  • Garam masala – ½ tsp
  • Tomato ketchup – 2 tbsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 1 tsp
  • Butter – 3 tsp

Method for paneer sandwich:

  • Take a pan. Heat oil in it. (buy non-stick pan online)
  • Add chopped green chili. Fry for few seconds.
  • Now add chopped onions. Fry until they become translucent.
  • Now add all spices like red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, jeera powder, salt. Mix well. The mixture will appear dry by now.
  • Now add grated or crumbled paneer.
  • Also, add chopped coriander leaves. Fry until the paneer gets properly mixed with the onions.
  • Switch off the stove. Take out in a bowl and keep it aside to cool.
  • Paneer filling is ready.
  • Now let’s assemble the sandwich.
  • Grease one of the sides of bread with butter.
  • Take other bread and apply tomato ketchup on one of the sides.
  • Now put 2-3 tbsp of paneer filling on the bread on the buttered side.
  • Now put other bread on the filling. The ketchup side should face the filling.
  • Heat a sandwich maker.
  • Now apply butter evenly on the outer side of the sandwich.
  • Put the sandwich on a preheated grill. Keep the bread on it and grill for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the sandwich with the help of a spatula.
  • Repeat the same process with the remaining bread.

Here I have grilled the sandwich but you can even toast it also. In the remarks section, I have also described how to make this sandwich on tava if you don’t have a sandwich maker. While making on tava just keep the flame low so that you can get the perfect crispy and golden brown texture.

You can also use brown bread instead of white bread. Even instead of regular paneer tofu can be used. Tofu us was also known as soya paneer. Eat this sandwich during breakfast or as a brunch. Serve with green coriander chutney or tomato ketchup.

Garnishing:

  • Cut the sandwich in a triangle shape and Serve this with
    • chutney,
    • tomato sauce
    • and potato chips.

Remarks:

  • Total time of cooking is 35-40 minutes.
  • Serves 2 people
  • Herbs can also be used. Just spread dry herbs over the paneer filling and the taste will be increased.
  • Low-fat butter can also be used if you are health seeker.
  • If you do t have a sandwich maker than heat a tava. Grease with oil or butter. Now put the assembled sandwich on it. Cook on low flame until the bottom side is golden brown. Gently press with the help of a spatula so that the sandwich sticks together. Now flip the sandwich and cook until golden brown.
