Eggless Mawa Cake Recipe

Eggless Mawa Cake Recipe Ingredients:

  • Crumbled Mawa – 1 cup
  • Cardamom Powder – 1 tsp.
  • Granulated Sugar – 1 cup
  • Whole Wheat Flour – 1  cup
  • All Purpose Flour – 1 cup
  • Cake Flour – ½ cup
  • Baking Powder – 1 tsp.
  • Baking Soda – ½ tsp.
  • Heavy Whipped Cream – 4 tbsp.
  • Whole Milk – 1 cup
  • Unsalted Butter – 2/3 cup
  • Cashew nuts – ¼ cup
  • Mascarpone Cheese – ½ cup
  • Vegetable Oil – 1 tbsp.
  • Lime Juice – 1 tsp.
  • Grated Lemon Zest – 1 tsp.
  • Vanilla Extract – few drops
  • Salt – as per taste

Note: Cashews are used just for the topping. You can also use walnuts.

Eggless Mawa Cake Recipe Steps:


  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes. You can also set the temperature to 170 degrees if your microwave is convection mode.
  • Crumble the Mawa and keep the bowl aside.
  • Cake Batter:
    • Sift the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour and cake flour in a large mixing bowl.
    • Sieve the baking powder and baking soda in the same bowl.
    • Sprinkle the cardamom powder over the flour.
    • Mix the strained ingredients properly and also add salt as per the taste.
    • Set this bowl aside for some time for ingredients to rest.
  • Filling:
    • In the bowl having the whisk attached, mix the mascarpone cheese and heavy cream.
    • Whip for 2 minutes till achieves stiff and heavy peaks.
    • Refrigerate the filling before using.
  • Frosting:
    • In one small bowl bring together vanilla extract with heavy cream
    • Now whip and mix in the chilled bowl.
    • Add sugar and whip again for 2 minutes.
  • Sugar-Oil Mixture:
    • Attach the whipping stand with the bowl.
    • Combine sugar and oil in the bowl. Beat the mixture of oil and butter till it becomes creamy.
    • Whip at a medium speed and also scrape the sides.
    • Do this for few minutes till the mixture achieve light texture and becomes airy.
    • Continuously whip the mixture till it becomes
    • Once done, keep this aside.
    • Also, mix lime juice, lemon zest and vanilla extract.
    • Whip at a medium speed and also scrape the sides.
    • Do this for 5-7 minutes till the mixture achieve light texture and becomes airy.

    • Once done, keep this aside.

Note: You can also grate the Mawa.


  • In a large mixing bowl, mix all the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients properly.
  • They should fold within each other evenly.
  • Pour some milk and cream from the top and again fold to form a batter.
  • Keep kneading till the cream absorbs in the batter of the cake.
  • Apply Butter and grease the cake pan.
  • Dust some wheat flour over it roughly and then try to spread it evenly all over the pan.
  • Transfer the final batter between the greased cake pans.
  • Bake the cakes in the oven until the surface becomes fluffy. It should bounce back when pinched with a toothpick.
  • Remove the cake from the baking oven and keep the tray of cake pans over the wire rack and allow them to cool completely.
  • Once the cake is cooled, with the help of a knife, trim the uneven top upper layer of the cake to make it look even.
  • Place the cake pan on the clean surface and apply the filling on the cut side of cake.
  • Spread the filling over the bottom layer of the cake evenly carefully. Also, trim the layer as and when needed to make it even.
  • Arrange cashews upright and stem end down.
  • No spread the frosting in a thin layer over the top and the sides. Wait for 15 minutes till the frosting is complete settles over the cake.
  • Spread the remaining filling and frosting all over the cake where you feel is needed.
  • Let the cake settle in the refrigerator for half hour before you serve.
