Paneer Bread Rolls Recipe

Ingredients for Paneer Bread Rolls Recipe:

  • Brown bread slices – 8-10 slices
  • Paneer/ cottage cheese – 250 grams
  • Finely chopped ginger – ½ tsp.
  • Finely chopped chilies – 1 piece
  • Red chili powder – ¼ tsp.
  • Coriander powder – ¼ tsp.
  • Finely chopped Coriander Leaves – 1 tbsp.
  • Garam masala – ¼ tsp.
  • Chaat masala – ½ tsp.
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil/ Butter for greasing (use saffola oil)

Note: You can also use the whole wheat bread, multi-grain bread, white bread or any other bread. It can be made at home or bought from the grocery store. The fragrant agent such as coriander leaves can be substituted with the parsley leaves as well.

Method for Paneer Bread Rolls Recipe:

Preparation of stuffing:

  • Take a bowl. Add paneer in it. Crumble the paneer. Keep it aside.
  • Now add salt, Chaat masala, Garam masala, coriander powder, red chili powder.
  • Also add chopped ginger, green chili, and coriander leaves.
  • Mix everything well to make a soft stuffing.
  • When the ingredients are mixed with each other, keep the bowl aside.

Note: You can also add the dry mango powder along with the other spice powders.

Preparation of Bread Rolls:

  • Take a slice of bread and cut the edges.
  • With the help of a rolling pin slightly flatten the bread.
  • Take 2 tbsp. of paneer stuffing and place it on one side of the bread.
  • Now apply some water on all four side of the bread. You can use a brush or you can do it with your fingers tips.
  • Now gently roll the bread and seal the sides also to make a rectangular roll.
  • Repeat the process with the remaining bread slices.

Note: To close the end edges of the roll, apply moisture of water or butter on your fingertips and then press them.

Baking the Paneer Bread Rolls:

  • Place the prepared bread rolls on a baking tray.
  • No need to grease the tray just apply some butter or oil on the bread rolls.
  • Bake the bread rolls in a preheated oven at 200 degree Celsius for 10 – 12 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Depending on the type of oven time required will vary.
  • Once done remove from oven.
  • Paneer bread rolls are ready to eat.

Note: Refrain from using too much oil for the greasing the bread.

Pan Roasting the Paneer Bread Rolls:

  • If you don’t have an oven, you can even make this rolls by roasting in the pan.
  • Take a tava or a griddle. Add. 2 tbsp. of oil or butter.
  • Now put the prepared rolls on it.
  • Roast till golden brown on a medium flame
  • Flip the other side and roast till golden brown
  • When they are done, take them out and place on a plate.
  • Paneer bread rolls are ready to eat.

This is one such snack which can be made without any pre-preparation and need of any extra ingredients. It is similar to the making of Potato Rolls, wherein you use the filling of mashed potatoes. Here, you use the crumbled paneer with other herbs and condiments to enhance the flavors of the dish. We have also baked the dish keeping the health factor in mind.

You can prepare this recipe if you have leftover paneer. This dish is healthy because I have baked it. You can also opt for pan roasting. So there is flexibility in the making of this snack, you can choose any technique you are comfortable with. The final paneer rolls will be crispy from outside, whereas soft and fresh inside.

If you are vegan, instead of paneer tofu can also be used. Again to make it healthier you can use brown bread. You can also add vegetables of your choice along with paneer. Serve hot with tomato sauce or coriander chutney.

Remarks:

  • Time required to make the paneer bread rolls is around 30 minutes
  • The measured proportion of ingredients serves 3 people. You can double or triple the number of serving.
  • You can add chopped garlic and onions in this roll.
  • If you are using ready-made paneer then soak it in warm water to make it soft for some time. Remove excess water by patting with the kitchen napkin.
  • Do not throw the sides if the bread. Grind them in a mixer grinder and store in a jar in the refrigerator. Use for binding or coating patties.
  • Soya paneer or tofu can be used.
  • Veggies can also be added. But do sauté them.
  • If you want, you skip the oil and use the soften butter.
  • Dried herbs of measure ¼ tsp. can be added. You also add the mixed herbs.
  • You must not deep fry or shallow fry them. Simply with the little amount of oil, roast them as mentioned in the recipe.

Garnishing:

Cut these delicious and delectable bread rolls in two pieces. Serve with fresh homemade tomato sauce or tamarind date chutney or coriander chutney. For the snacks like this, you can have the crunchy bite of nachos or baked potato chips.
