Ingredients for Veg Grilled Sandwich Recipe:

  • Butter – as required
  • Chaat Masala – as per taste
  • Cucumber -1 Piece (Medium)
  • Green Coriander Chutney – as required
  • Onion -1 Piece (Medium)
  • Potato – 1 Piece (Medium)
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Tomato – 1 Piece (Medium)
  • Tomato Sauce – as required
  • White Bread/ Brown Bread – 8 to 10 slices

Note: You can also add roasted cumin powder to your veg grilled sandwich. If you want, you may season your veg stuffing of sandwich with the black pepper powder.

The quantity of some ingredients is not mentioned because it depends on the taste and choice of the individual person. You can use vegetables in proportion to the size of the bread and other spices or chutney you are using.

If you already have bread in your fridge then you can use that. There is no need to buy the fresh packet of bread from the market for making this veg grilled sandwich. Any healthy bread loaf can be used such as whole grain bread, honey oats bread, wheat bread, multigrain bread or the homemade loaf of Italian bread.

A Method for Making Veg Grilled Sandwich:

Pre-Preparation:

  • Boil the potato. Peel off the skin and cut into round slices.
  • Rinse the cucumber, remove its skin and thin slice it.
  • Wash all other veggies such as onion and tomatoes. Remove their layer of skin and cut them into thin round slices.
  • If you are using the chutney, then prepare the fresh coriander chutney at home.
  • Although tomato-ketchup is available in the market, it’s always better to make the fresh homemade tomato sauce for the sandwich.

Note: You can cut onions into vertical slices as well. Do not over boil the potatoes such that they fall apart. Boil they become soft enough to eat.

Preparation:

  • Now take a bread apply butter all over the surface of the bread.
  • Then take some green chutney and spread it at one side of the bread.
  • After that put 2 or 3 pieces of all veggies on it.
  • Sprinkle Chaat masala and salt on the veggies.
  • Now take other bread. Apply tomato sauce on one side.
  • Now put the bread above the bread on which the veggies are kept.
  • Now apply butter evenly on the outer side of the sandwich.
  • Put the sandwich on a preheated grill in such a way the buttered surface of the sandwich faces the bottom of the grill.
  • Keep the bread on it, then spread butter on the top side of the sandwich.
  • Cover the grill and allow the sandwich to grill for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the sandwich with the help of a spatula.
  • Repeat the same process with the remaining bread.

Note: If you want, you can cut the edges of the bread. When you spread the butter over the bread, be careful that your bread does not become soggy.
