Carrot Raita Recipe - Gajar Raita Recipe

Ingredients Required for Making Carrot Raita:

  • Carrots (Gajar) – 2 units.
  • Curd – 1 cup.
  • Green Chilli (finely chopped) – 1 unit.
  • Coriander Leaves (Dhania Patta) – few leaves.
  • Cumin Powder (Jeera Powder) – 1/2 tsp.
  • Garam Masala Powder – 1 pinch
  • Asafoetida (Hing) – 1 pinch
  • Salt – as per taste.
  • Ghee – ½ tsp.

Note: The carrots must be peeled and grated. Use the fresh curd or yogurt. If you do not have cumin powder, then roast cumin seeds and grind them to powder. Use patanjali cow ghee when making recipe.

Method for making Carrot Raita:

  • Take carrot and clean them properly.
  • Peel the carrots and grate them. Keep them aside.
  • Take a bowl and add 1 cup curd in it.
  • Whisk the curd until it becomes smooth.
  • Now, add the grated carrot in the curd.
  • Add chopped green chillies as well.
  • Now, add cumin powder & Garam masala powder and mix everything.
  • Add salt and taste the carrot Raita.
  • Adjust salt if necessary.
  • You can add red chilli powder if you want more spicy carrot Raita.
  • Now, take a stainless-steel spoon and add ½ tsp. ghee on the spoon.
  • Turn on the flame and heat the spoon. (be careful when doing this)
  • Now, add Hing in the ghee.
  • Let it heat for 30 seconds.
  • Now, add this tempering over the carrot Raita.
  • Mix it nicely and serve the Carrot Raita.
